The Friary Judo Club has been successfully revalidated as part of the Sport England Clubmark & the British Judo Association’s Club Recognition Schemes Bronze Award.

Congratulations to Matt Turner who won 2, lost 2 at the High grades in Kidderminster. He just missed getting into the semi-finals on points difference but got his first 20 points towards his Dan grade.

Congratulations to everyone from the club who fought in the Midland Area Commemorative Competition. We had some great results:

Juniors:

Congratulations to club coach Matthew Harte – who won a bronze medal at the BJA British Open Masters on September 21st.

Club coach Matthew Harte has been nominated for the British Judo Association Volunteer of the Year Award 2013 under the category of Coach of the Year by members of the club.

Sadly he didn’t get through to the final round of judging but is grateful for the nomination from the club members and all of the positive feedback!
