A good day at the office today!
Mimi: took her first competition like a pro. WDWD taking the silver medal. Always looked in a strong and dominant position. For her first competition, an excellent performance.
Harry: LWL BRONZE! Harry took the lead in every fight. Unlucky he lost out to a massively more experienced player in his first, and in the third he held his HUGE partner to a draw until the final second where a very late (after the bell) yuko stole the draw.
Owain: LLL BRONZE! Poor owain! So Un used to fighting people his own size he struggled to get the scores! Excellent, excellent command of the fight and a great spirit. Unlucky to get injured so early on!
Sam: LWL a different person to regular Sam. Went out each time and kept his head up. Probably should have won the first 2 fights. Confident and strong, and now we know what works I’m sure we can sort it out for next time!
Three other children from the club entered the minimon and all fought superbly in their first competition. Between them they won a GOLD and two BRONZES. Details of each child’s fights are below:
- LLLW – first competition and only a first mon! Lost out to Mimi, but fought superbly. Also, she got a really unlucky finger in the eye but carried on regardless and won her final fight with style. GOLD!
- So very brave! She fought three girls in a row who were twice as tall as her. LLL She went out each time with a drive and desire to do well, and was unlucky not to trip her opponent to challenge the silver medallist. A very very well earn third place BRONZE!
- LLL BRONZE! Unlucky landing in the heavyweight section. He got slammed by a superfit judo player from wolves who’s on the villa squad. Second fight he could have won but I think threw himself by leaning back too far, and third was robbed of the win by a lad with 4 years experience wearing a 6th mon… Nevertheless awesome spirit!
Congratulations to everybody. You should all be so so so immensely proud of yourselves. I know Mark and I are. Very very well done
